The Programme listed below is available to ALL Chichester U3A members. Events are advertised on clipboards at monthly meetings on our table in the hall, these are also circulated on coach trips.

PLEASE READ IMPORTANT INFORMATION BELOW!!!!

• Cheque’s, payable to Chichester U3A. On the back of your cheque, please add in pencil the event and your membership number.
• Payments Please give or send a deposit, or a payment in full whichever is required to the organiser. This is the only way of ensuring that you are booked on an event. PLEASE PAY YOUR BALANCE ONE MONTH IN ADVANCE OF A TRIP this will save time & money for the organiser having to ring round with reminders!!  If the event becomes fully booked or cancelled by us, your cheque will be refunded to you
• Insurance For holidays and short breaks, everyone must be insured. U3A Indemnity Insurance does not cover non-U3A members for Day trips.
• No collection for the Organiser should be made on an event, to avoid embarrassment.
• Travel Group Organisers like the rest of U3A, give their services freely, your appreciation is our reward. Help the Coach Driver. By ensuring PLEASE THAT YOUR LITTER IS TAKEN HOME and check it has not dropped on the coach floor. Thank you for your co-operation.

AUGUST 26^th  SURREY RIVER TRIP

Leaving Oaklands Way at 8.45. Woods Coach. There will be a stop for coffee near Leatherhead, where the Guide will meet us. Followed by a tour of Surrey villages, such as Shere and Abinger, before arriving in Guilford for lunch (bring picnic if preferred). Then a 90 minute cruise on the River Wey, returning to Guilford and tea at the Cathedral Refectory.  Return to Chichester at 5.30 pm. COST £27

SEPTEMBER 25^th  DOWNS HOUSE (Darwins home) and CHARTWELL (Churchill)

Leaving Chichester at about 9.00 a.m. for DOWN HOUSE (English Heritage) in Kent. Coffee (at your own expense) on arrival (about 10.30.) and the free time to explore house and garden. We will leave about 12.00-12.15 to go to Chartwell where you can take lunch (at your own expense) and visit the house and garden and exhibitions. Leaving at about 4.15 to arrive back in Chichester, traffic permitting before 6.00. Approx cost: NT members £16. Non-NT Members £25. Deposit £10( cheque payable to Chichester U3A, with membership number and visit penciled on reverse) secures your place. English Heritage consider us to be an educational group so you are visiting Down House for free.

16^th SEPTEMBER  BLENHEIM PALACE, PARK AND GARDENS

Set in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds, Blenheim Palace is considered to be one of the finest English baroque houses in the country. It was a gift from Queen Anne and a grateful nation to John Churchill, 1^st Duke of Marlborough, in recognition of his famous victory over the French at the Battle of Blenheim in 1704. Sir Winston Churchill was born in the Palace in 1874. The Palace is surrounded by over 2000 acres of beautiful ‘Capability Brown’ parklands, lakes, fountains and formal gardens. There are plenty of Cafes and Restaurants. Wheel Chair access is good apart from the new attraction ‘Blenheim Palace-The Untold Story’ but a virtual tour will be available. Depart Oaklands Way Chichester ( Richardsons Coach) at 8.30am arriving at Blenheim Palace approx 11.00am.
